OYO APC CHIFTAIN, AKINOSUN CONDEMNS REMOVAL OF LAW IN NEW ELECTORAL ACT BILL, ASSURES TAKE OVER OF OYO STATE COME 2023

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state, FOLA AKINOSUN has condemned the court order directing the removal of Section 84 sub-section 12 of the Amended New Electoral Act, which allows public office holders to contest while they are still in office.

AKINOSUN, who featured on Solutions FM’s Yoruba programme ‘Lagbo Oselu on Saturday, opined that office holders should make a choice whether or not to be public servants or politicians.

He further emphasized the importance of women ruling the affairs of Nigeria especially the economical aspect, as he described them as good managers, adding that women have the right capacity to contest in the forthcoming general elections just like their counterparts.

The APC chieftain, who declared his preparedness to represent Oyo South senatorial district come 2023, is positive that the party will take on the leadership of Oyo state.

He described APC as an experienced party of progressive people, saying “what we are going to do come 2023 when we take the mantle of Leadership of Oyo state is going to be ten times better than what the present Governor Seyi Makinde is doing.

He lauded the governor’s performance since he took over office, but accused the Peoples Democratic Party which the governor contested under, as a party that lacks cohesion and ideology and running the state as a business venture.
