NIGERIAN ELECTRICITY WORKERS HOPEFUL OF FEDERAL GOVERNMENT`S SINCERITY AFTER SUSPENDING STRIKE

Nigerian Electricity Workers are hopeful the Federal Government meets their demands in two weeks in-order avoid a total shutdown of power in the country.

Secretary General, National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE). JOE AAJERO, who made this known this morning said, the union has not blackmailed and sabotaged the President MUHAMADU BUHARI led administration but requesting for their rights which was agreed on since 2013.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Power, GODDY JEDI-AGBA has assured members of the electricity workers union to work on all grey areas of the agreements reached with the union and avoid a repeat of power shutdown experienced in the country on Wednesday.

The electricity union is protesting the non payment of outstanding arrears owed to former workers of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), suspension of conditions of service and career path for workers and the directive by the TCN board to conduct promotion interviews for acting Principal Managers who are moving to Assistant General Managers.
