PRESIDENT BUHARI UNVEILS WORLD’S LARGEST RICE PYRAMID

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has unveiled bags of rice paddy numbering one million stacked as pyramids located on the grounds of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

President BUHARI who was a major guest at the event, expressed confidence in Nigeria’s ability to independently produce its own food, and the effectiveness of the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme.

Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, GODWIN EMEFIELE who was also presented at the unveiling, appreciated the present administration’s proactive measure to ensure food security and minimize the negative impact of covid-19.

The bags of rice which were planted and harvested from states across the country under the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme (ABP), is in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN).
