Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in Oyo state, has arrested two suspects namely: PATRICK UMEAKUANA and ADEGOKE SUNDAY, who are suspected dealers in the production of adulterated and fake Automated Transmission Fluid (ATF), Grease oil and varieties of car lubricants.

The tactical team of the corps, stormed Gbekuba in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo state, on Thursday, where the company: Gordon links petroleum limited is located and confiscated 2500 litres of ATF, plastic container of suspected adulterated grease oil, metal drums containing illegally processed grease and a large quantity of chemical.

Commandant, NSCDC in Oyo state, MICHEAL ADARALEWA, while speaking to newsmen during the parading of the suspects on Friday, said the two suspects and their accomplices who are still at large, will be charged to a competent court within its jurisdiction after the conclusion of investigation.

Commandant Adaralewa also used the opportunity to assure the residents of Oyo state, that the conclusion of the investigation will lead to the exposure of other criminals involved in the act.

He also cautioned Nigerians to be mindful of the kind of lubricants and other fluids they use in their vehicles and machineries. One of the suspects, UMEAKUANA, age 57, said he has been in the business for over 20 years and admitted to not receiving approval to produce engine oil in the factory at Gbekuba.

UMEAKUANA, who also claimed to be producing under an affiliated company in Lagos, was said to be pirating the original content of the registered company using the name ‘global links’.

The factory has been sealed off by the corps and the seized items have been impounded and would be taken to relevant agencies for elaborate laboratory analysis.
