Days after some Nigerians protested in Niger and Kano states, residents of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, have joined in the protest against rising inflation, high cost of living and insecurity in Nigeria.
The protesters expressing their grievances, urged the government to come to their aid and put an end to the suffering which they described as frustrating, causing deaths and has become unbearable for citizens.
Some of the residents claim that they can no longer afford to cook with gas, as the price has skyrocketed, adding that virtually all Nigerians have been affected by the high cost of foodstuff in the Country.
Speaking to Solutions 93.9 FM, coordination of the protest, comrade Solomon Eniola said that the protest will be in sequence. He also said that the protesters will match to places like bodija, apete and sango today.
Policemen, NSCDC officials, Amotekun and other security agents are mounted at major junctions in Ibadan to ensure the peaceful protest is not hijacked by hoodlums.
Our Correspondents, Taiwo Giwa and Seyifunmi Akinsanya observed that the protesters sang solidarity songs, carried placards with inscriptions such as “Tinubu Go”, “Mr president this is not the hope”, “this is shege, Give us good health facilities” etc.
