Oyo State Government under the leadership of Engineer SEYI MAKINDE is not relenting in making the pacesetter state malaria free.
The State Commissioner for Health, DR OLUWASERIMI AJETUMOBI who made this known on thursday while speaking at the malaria community engagement campaign held at the Molete Primary health care facility, Ibadan South-West Local Government Area, in commemoration of the World Malaria Day said Oyo state is currently witnessing a decline in malaria cases and death through different measures put in place by the state government which include free testing and treatment of fever cases at all Primary health care centers in the state.
DR OLUWASHERIMI also noted that the ministry under her watch will redouble their efforts and embrace a multi-faceted approach encompassing investment, innovation and implementations to achieve the zero-malaria goal in the state.
On his part, the Executive Secretary Oyo State Primary Healthcare Board DR MUIDEEN OLATUNJI also advised residents in the state to imbibe the culture of the use of Mosquito Treated Nets and hygienic environment which help in putting an end to malaria cases in the state.
The theme for this years World Malaria Day is “Advancing health equity, gender equality and human rights”
