ZONTA CLUB II IBADAN CONFERS LEADERSHIP AWARD ON IBADAN NBA CHAIRMAN, ALADENIYI

Zonta club II Ibadan has charged women to take giant strides in their career, rise about the stereotype of being called weaker vessels and aim for excellence in their chosen fields.

This charge was made during the Rose Day and international Women’s day celebration of the club at Zonta House, Jericho, Ibadan, on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

The occasion also witnessed the conferring of award of Inspirational Woman Leader on the Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Ibadan Chapter, Mrs. Folasade Aladeniyi and the induction of members into the golden Z Club (College of Medicine, Ibadan).

Speaking at the ceremony, President of Zonta Club II Ibadan, Dr. Olufunmi Adegbile hailed the exemplary leadership of Mrs. Aladeniyi, describing her as a formidable force in a male dominated field. Dr. Adegbile said the choice of the awardee as a recipient was as a result of her excellence, hardwork and exceptional achievement as the first female Chairman of the Association.


Speaking further on the induction of members into the Golden Z Club (College of Medicine, Ibadan), Dr. Adegbile said the subsidiary club of Zonta is saddled with the responsibility of effecting positive change in their communities and also help nurture younger girls.

The spokesperson for the event, Zontan Mrs Stella Ladipo JP, who gave a speech on the topic; Challenges in Professional Space; Administrative Perspective, highlighted lack of adequate knowledge of technology, insufficient equipment, change, low productivity, security, time management among others as challenges people encounter in the management profession.

She, however, charged women on the need for continued development through skill acquisition, keeping up with the changing trends of their professions and industries, technological advancement, attending courses and trainings.

Zontan Ladipo also encouraged women not to deter in their quest for knowledge, regardless of their age, level and social status.

On her part, Mrs Aladeniyi appreciated the club for the recognition, describing the opportunity to be a part of the women advocacy group as a cherished privilege.

The NBA Ibadan Chairman also admonished women to rise to being leaders, a change agent and women of positive influence.
