UMCC HOLDS 16TH INTER-HOUSE COMPETITION

United Missionary Comprehensive College (UMCC) Molete, in Ibadan, conducted its 16th Inter-House sports competition at the school sport complex on Wednesday, in the presence of both parents and invited guest schools.

The chairman of the event, Dr. TAIYE ODOFIN highlighted that sport is a career that parents should encourage their wards to consider in helping them make a living in the future.

ODOFIN also added that UMCC, known for its academic excellence is particular about the improvement of its student’s physical fitness, emphasizing that a number of women around the globe have made their marks with their choice of career in sports.

The principal of the school, ANNE ADEKUNLE, who said preparations for the sport competition has been on for about three months, stressed that it has been of great help to the mental capacity of the students.

Some Parents, who spoke to our correspondent, PRISCILLA OLOWOYOTAN, expressed their support for female participation in sports, stressing that it will help them stay fit. They also said some students who are not bright in their classroom exercises will have a chance to prove their prowess in Sports.

After all competitions, the umpires announced Red house as the overall winner of the competitions with 116 points, yellow house won second position with 104 points, while pink house got third position with 96 points.
