OYO STATE JUDICIARY MUSLIM COMMUNITY CONDUCT 14TH ANNUAL LECTURE

Islam has been described as a religion that has the vitality to take on every issue in the society and Muslims have been urged to be deeply rooted in the Quran so as not to be deceived by fake soothsayers.

This was the highlight of Saturday’s lecture titled; Islamic Religion and Its Influence On the Society at the 14th Annual Ramadan Lecture of the Oyo State Judiciary Muslim Community at High Court of Justice Premises, Ring-Road, Ibadan, Oyo state.

Guest lecturer, Dr. Taofeek Abdul Hammed, who is the Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, said the knowledge of the Quran should be to the worship of Allah, while highlighting humility and morals as the character of a true Muslim.

Dr. Hammed also emphasized the need for the Quran to be the bedrock of every family so as to rule out corruption in the Society.

Chairman, Oyo State Judiciary Muslim Community, Ismaila Muritala, said the usual practice of Ramadan Lecture is to remind the Muslims about Islam and what is expected of them.

Chairman of the Day, Barrister Mufutau Adetumbi represented by Chairman, Oyo State Muslim Lawyers, Alhaji Ismail Saka admonished Muslims to be fully committed and dedicated to Allah during this fasting period, adding that they must shun sin and acquire blessings that will be sustainable even after the Holy Month of Ramadan.

 

Present at the Ramadan Lecture was; the Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice I.S. Yerima represented by Honorable Justice M.O. Ishola, Iyaloja of Ibadan Land, Mrs Oyinlola Abiola, Revered Judges, Magistrates and other members of the Community.
