Members of the Oyo state 7th assembly have called for a befitting state burial for Late Pa TAIWO AKINKUNMI, the designer of Nigeria’s flag.
The 7th assembly members under the leadership of Honourable MONSURAT SUMONU while making the call during a media parley in Ibadan the Oyo state capital called on the Federal Government not to allow the death of the country’s hero be in vain.
Senator SUMONU also requested that flying the country’s flag on half mast on the day of his burial will be a great honour to the designer and his family.
One of the children of late Pa AKINKUNMI, AKINWUNMI AKINKUNMI appealed to both State and Federal Government speed up the plans and process of the befitting burial .
PA TAIWO AKINKUNMI born May 10 1936, in Abeokuta Ogun State & died on 29th of August 2023, Ibadan the Oyo State capital.
