OYO NSCDC COMMANDANT ASSURES RESIDENTS OF ADEQUATE SECURITY DURING THE GUBERNATORIAL ELECTIONS

The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Oyo State Command, Dr. Adaralewa Michael Akintayo has reassured the residents of the State of his Command’s readiness to ensure free and fair conduct of Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections in the State comes Saturday 18th March, 2023.

Commandant Adaralewa Michael made this known today during a security briefing that comprises all Heads of Department, Heads of Unit and the Area Commanders in the State on the modalities to ensure a credible poll in pacesetters State. He charged the heads of all formations to be proactive and ensure that the electorates are well secured in other to perform their civic right.

The State Commandant also appeals to all stakeholders involved in the electioneering process to collaborate with Security agencies and enjoined the electorates to be guided and abide by rules governing the conduct of 2023 elections.

He warned those who are determined to cause trouble on the election day to have a rethink and not to be used for selfish interest as anyone caught trying to contravene the extant laws shall be dealt with according to the electoral act.

While commending the good people of Oyo State for their conduct during the February 25th Presidential and National Assembly elections in the State which was adjudged peaceful and enjoined them to maintain the standard.
He emphasised the need for members of the public to strictly abide by the restriction of movement order.
