NGO CALLS FOR SUPPORT, OPPORTUNITY FOR FEMALE CHILDREN

In building a country where females can participate and compete in a male dominated environment, Nigerian teenage girls have been charged to acquire different skills, stay away from hard drugs and believe that hard work pays.

These were the focus of the discussion at a training organized by the Teens Matters Foundation in commemoration of this year’s International Day of the Girl child.

Speaking to Solutions Fm correspondents at the programme at St Theresa’s college Oke-Ado Ibadan ,the founder, Teens Matters foundation Mrs. Emiola LATIFAH said her organization came up with the seminar for young secondary school girl to broaden their horizon and have a better future and learn to be independent.

Some of the participants shared their experience at the seminar with Solutions FM.

The one-day seminar which had in attendance over 100 female students from three different secondary schools in Ibadan also included the launching of a book titled “Nurturing The Next Generation”.
