Jamal Musiala’s sensational strike earned Bayern Munich a win over St Pauli and took them six points clear of RB Leipzig at the top of the Bundesliga.
The German international won the ball 30 yards from goal and took a touch before hammering an effort in off the crossbar after 22 minutes.
England captain Harry Kane had a quiet afternoon, and blazed a strike over the bar from Serge Gnabry’s cutback.
Leon Goretzka took aim from inside the box, while St Pauli goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj got down quickly to palm away a Leroy Sane strike that looked destined for the bottom corner.
Musiala was sent clear through on goal in the closing minutes but was unable to double Bayern’s lead as he had his shot blocked.
Leipzig could reduce the gap to three points if they win against Borussia Monchengladbach later on Saturday (17:30 GMT).
