#IMD OVER 300 IBADAN RESIDENTS BENEFIT FROM SOLUTIONS FM,BA-N FREE MEDICAL TESTS (REPORT)

One of the essential duties of an organization is to take care of its employees. Apart from this, every organization is committed to giving back to communities around them which is known as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) refers to strategies designed to ensure the company’s operations are ethical and beneficial for the society they are situated in.

The challenges facing the society currently cannot be solved only by the government, which is why the role of organisations, both groups and private cannot be over-emphasized.

A properly implemented CSR concept can bring along a variety of competitive advantages, such as improved brand image and reputation, improved productivity and quality, enhanced access to capital and markets, increased sales and profits, which is why Solutions 93.9 FM over the years has put out series of activities that is beneficial to the residents of Ibadan and its environs.

One of such CSR is the recent Integrated Medical Outreach organised by the Remedy Radio dial in collaboration with Breakthrough Action-Nigeria (BA-N) and Oyo State Primary Health Care Board in commemoration of the 2023International Men’s Day, where the staff of the media outfit and residents in the community numbering up to 300 benefited in free Tuberculosis screening, BP tests ,Blood sugar check and referrals.

Chief Operating officer, Solutions 93.9 FM Ibadan, Mrs Funmi Chima, said the aim of the Free Medical outreach was part of the station’s Cooperate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the Oke-Ado community and in Ibadan south west local government at large.

“This is what we stand for as a station, bringing solutions to challenges in our community, in everyway we can.

This free medical outreach is not only for staff members, but for people in our community because a healthy community is a strong and happy community ”

She added that the station will be consistent in bring help to people in her community.

Also speaking with newsmen during the outreach, BA-N State Coordinator, Oluwatoyin AFACHUNG warned against self-medication, and avoidance of issues that will increase Blood Pressure. She, however pleaded with the government to make work available so that Men can provide for their families and reduce the untold hardship.

Some of the beneficiaries of the free medical outreach were full of appreciation to the remedy dial for availing them such services despite the present economic hardship bedevilling the Country.

The theme for International Men’s Day 2023 is ‘Zero Male Suicide’, which highlights the importance of helping men and boys to manage their mental health.
